A: Managed Services can help companies of all sizes. For smaller businesses with no in-house IT support, these services provide all the benefits of having an in-house team for a fraction of the costs. It helps them compete with larger companies by enabling them to have a structured approach to IT and access to a team of experts that would otherwise be unavailable to them. For larger companies with some in-house IT staff, managed services can provide support in areas where they may not have the expertise, plus enable them to move internal staff to tasks that provide more value, such as improving the organization’s overall efficiency. Managed services providers typically handle the infrastructure and day-to-day tasks, allowing the internal team to focus on the application and business-related aspects of IT.
A: Since 2001, Dyrand Systems has believed in one key philosophy: we only recommend solutions we believe are right for our clients, and only if we would do the same if we owned the company ourselves. We believe in the long term picture, and every recommendation is evaluated by our team of experts to ensure it’s right for our clients. Too many MSPs will recommend the solution that’s best for them, instead of what they believe is right for the client.
A: The key benefit is that the MSP is responsible for all things IT, so you can focus on your core business. And since MSPs charge a flat fee to keep things running, the needs are aligned: an MSP wants to ensure your systems are running effectively and efficiently, which is the same requirement their clients have. Working with an MSP also provides access to a full team of IT professionals who have many years of experience and are required to continually train and re-certify.
A: The process for moving to Dyrand Systems is very straightforward and largely hands off for most companies. There are some things that are critical for us to have, such as the admin credentials for everything from your domains, servers, etc.; however, if these are missing, we can even assist in getting that information.
A: While the typical onboarding process is quite lengthy, most of the work is done behind the scenes and does not interfere with your day-to-day business. Investigation of your systems and the documentation of everything is key to the success of onboarding, and most of this can be done without much interaction from you. Some communication is required however, to ensure we understand your business drivers and critical applications, and we will also need to coordinate when we can begin loading our tools onto your systems. A typical onboarding project spans a several months; however, the go-live process usually takes just a few weeks.
A: We handle a large variety of day-to-day support issues, including but not limited to login problems, forgotten passwords, printer issues, onboarding/offboarding employees, and new workstation setup. We also provide access to in-house networks or cloud services, and install or troubleshoot common or line-of-business applications.
We have a dedicated team who monitor and maintain your servers and network infrastructure, be it in-house or in the cloud. Through a system of automatic alerts, we ensure that if an issue occurs, we’re instantly aware of it and taking steps to resolve the problem.
To ensure your organization and ours are always on the same page regarding your technology, we meet with you quarterly to provide a snap-shot of your IT, and to find out if there are any upcoming changes in your organization that could affect your technology.
A: This is likely the most frequently asked question when beginning to discuss managed services. Dyrand Systems’ managed services plan is very straight forward: our monthly fees cover all the services required to maintain your existing infrastructure. Whether we do this remotely or onsite (if there’s an outage), it’s all part of our service offering. What’s not included are any changes to infrastructure, such as migrations to the cloud, server replacements, new location setup, etc. All of this type of work is properly scoped out, quoted, and approved by our clients prior to the commencement of work. This ensures there are no surprise invoices from Dyrand Systems.
A: Yes. We have a dedicated project team who are continuously performing projects such as migrations to the cloud, security implementations, office moves, etc. At Dyrand Systems, we only perform project work for companies who utilize our managed services. This ensures we always have the capacity to perform the work those clients require.
A: Yes. All of our clients have a proper backup and disaster recovery solution customized to their business requirements. We work with every client to ensure we understand their business requirements, and in many cases, their compliance requirements, then build in the necessary recovery time objectives and recovery point objectives.
